Continuity Timeline

The stages from normal operation through transfer. You can cancel at any point before execution.

Normal: Protected → Due → Check In → Protected (repeat)

If inactive: Protected → Due → Overdue → Voting → Grace → Execute

Owner can cancel at any point before execution by checking in.

1. Protected

Status: All quiet.

Check-in is current. No action needed. Owner can deposit, withdraw, modify settings. Guardians/recipients can only view status.

2. Check-in Due

Status: Deadline approaching.

Notifications sent. Timer counting down. No guardian action yet. Owner should check in.

3. Overdue

Status: Missed deadline.

Guardians notified. Escalating notifications to owner. Guardians can initiate voting. Check in anytime to return to Protected.

4. Voting Active

Status: Guardians voting.

A guardian initiated the vote. Waiting for threshold signatures. Owner can still check in to cancel.

5. Grace Period

Status: Voting passed. Final window.

Required guardians approved. Up to 6-month timer (configurable). This is your last chance to cancel. One check-in stops everything.

6. Transfer Pending

Status: Grace period ended.

Transfer queued. May have additional timelock delay. Guardians can execute. No cancellation available.

7. Complete

Status: Assets transferred.

Transaction executed on-chain. Recipient now owns the assets. Vault is empty.

The system isn't designed to be fast - it's designed to be safe. Multiple opportunities to cancel before anything irreversible.
